Airline updates
New routes on LCC (low cost carriers):
HCMC – Vientiane: Vietjet opened a brand new service connecting Vientiane, Laos, with Ho Chi Minh City this month. The new route is expected to operate four weekly return flights, with a flight time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes
HCMC – Dien Bien Phu: The Ho Chi Minh City – Dien Bien Phu route by Vietjet was recently inaugurated with three return flights per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).
Hanoi – Siem Reap : On 15 Dec, Vietjet opened direct flights from Hanoi to Siem Reap, Cambodia. The carrier has seven round-trips per week and a flight time of 1 hour and 45 minutes per leg.
Saigon – Perth/Adelaide from 21 Nov 2023 ( 5 flights per week ).
The new routes have increased the number of flights between Vietnam and Australia of Vietjet to 38 flights per week.
Reduced frequency routes:
- Bamboo Airlines: The airline has cancelled all international routes and some domestic routes including Hanoi- Phu Quoc, Hanoi- Dong Hoi, Can Tho-Phu Quoc and Danang-Phu Quoc.
New airlines :
Hong Kong-based startup Greater Bay Airlines is expanding its international network with its inaugural route to Vietnam. Service will be twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
